October Goodies...

October Blessings everyone!
Here are some of our October kitchen concoctions...
Thanks Rosmari - we are fermenting fools now!
We have our sour dough bread starter in the back...
under the skellie towl is our sauerkraut...
our ginger beer bug...
(I am keeping my eyes on that...)
the kimchi we started tonight...
(I think something is trying to escape from it...)
the kimchi we started last week...
(With a side of scorpion & a friend checking it out)
and some fire cider on top of sun dried tomatoes!
Oh, and a travel bottle of delicious red blood!
Then Ryan made this cool smudging feather.
This feather we found on one of our many walks
is adorened by beautiful amber and jet glass beads
with silver wire accents...
...and guess what?
***DRUM ROLL PLEASE***
This is going to be my very first giveaway!
All you have to do is leave me a message telling me what
your most favortite October activity is!
All my followers will also have an
extra entry tossed into the cauldron!
Winner will be picked from the pot on October 31st!
Good Luck!

I love to make halloween goodie bags to give away! I usually end up making them almost a month in advance just because I enjoy doing it so much! I also love carving pumpkins! (and getting all the ooey gooey stuff out-then separating out the seeds to roast!)

Favorite thing to do in October? Celebrate my birthday with good friends and family. But other things are to soak up all the orange of the season—pumpkins and leaves turning colors. I love how crows and ravens seem to come out of everywhere, they are just so magnificent. But maybe most of all is watching the kids (of all ages) get dressed up and morph into creatures fun and fanciful.

Oh I am glad I am late to your party so now I can enter your giveaway! My most favourite October activity is walks outside when the weather has started to get chilly and I can wrap up warm. Followed by tree gazing as the leaves turn and fall.

Eva! A giveaway!! Your are so awesome!!! Ryan too. :)

You want me to pick a favorite? One favorite? ONE???

I adore this month. Around these parts it feels like a season unto itself. Nature becomes rather frantic and very dramatic. Quite Queen-like, I imagine. :D I adore working outside, gathering the "final" harvests before the snow falls, clearing and prepping the garden beds for winter, walking in the brisk air, kicking through the earth-bound leaves as they flutter from the heavens. I love the the colors, the scents, the flavors of October ...

I could go on. But ya know what I may just love most about October? My birthday! 'Cause I'm really so very happy to be here in this life!!!

Merry fermenting!

Dressing up to be anything you want without judgement (or it should be that way)

The history of celtic Halloween and inviting the ancestors to participate is really awesome too

Oh, what a cool giveaway! Being from abroad, can I be in? Please let me know! I'm a giveaway greedy witch, alas...

Just in case you say yes, my favorite activity in October is, since ast year, to have fun at Mrs. B.'s all-month-long party! LOL We don't have Halloween here, so...

Kisses from Nydia.

My favorite thing to do is plan my Halloween costume and create Halloween Martinis for my party.

I come up with several new martinis each year and my guests now look forward to what they'll be.

I also do Halloween Appetizers to go with.

I love Halloween and the fun you can have with it!

Watching the leaves change and fall a little each day, revealing their naked branches like a long and colorful strip tease!
