Dieting is war!

This is grave.
She put down the big guns for the tanks.
Only a battalion will keep the chocolate from attacking her. Actually...the issue for me is freshbaked breads and MEAT!
I freaking love meat - I crave meat!
Gimmi a pot roast, prime rib or roast pork
and I am a happy chickie!
*laughs*
With all the beer, vodka, 1am drunkin' Wendy's burger run
after the Red Sox and breakfast buffet the next
morning in Salem, Mass I still lost
*drum roll please*
1.5 pounds!
Not too shabby - I am very happy actually!
Made it to the gym for an hour last night...
Took an Aquafit class for an hour this evening,
& then swam 10 laps to boot!
The big test will be working and being in the Bronx, NY
in a hotel Friday through Monday!
But for now...
I am on a roll baby!

Giveaway coolness...

This is a super cool blog with a super cool giveaway!
Run now and check her out!
(What are you waiting for - GO!)
My favs...
1. Where the Wild Things Are
2. Say hello to my little friend (w/gnome)

Red Sox!

This is our little gang...
not being a huge baseball fan it was more about the people
and the atmosphere of the evening and it was wonderful!
I even enjoyed the baseball!
Although, for the record, I am technically a Phillies fan!
Kathy, James and Shaney...
This is what a Pittsburg fan looks like
in the middle of Boston Patriots/Red Sox territory...
can you tell which is him? *laughs*

Beautiful Kathy!
Thanks again Kath - we had a fantastic weekend!

This is where we stood for most of the game.
I loved it!
Close to the beer, able to people watch, I made all kinds of new friends...
I highly recommend standing room only - can't beat it for the price
$20 verses $450...you make the call!
A beautiful evening at Fenway Park

More baseball peeps...
What a fabulous evening with friends!
I loved everything from the car, to train, to the subway...
to the bar, to the game, back to the bar, back to the train and subway...
and then car and then bar again!
I can't wait until we can go again!

#%@* Gym Bunnies!

Exercise is for gym bunnies...
...and I am certainly no gym bunny!
I was going to the gym 5 - 6 times a week...
suffering through every second and then just lost interest...
I REALLY need to get my tushy back there!
I need you guys to push me!
I was hoping my guy would take a walk with me tonight...
...but he is out with friends.
Don't get me wrong - this is a great thing!
He is usually very anti-social (crazy that he is with me) and
I have pushed him to get some "buddies" and it actually worked!
*sighs* but now I don't have anyone to play with tonight!
Guess I will have to take my walk alone...oh woe is me!
*giggle* Wish I had a stroller - I could take Sheldon!
Got an few early birthday gifts...
I fantastic Tibetian healing bowl
*heart* the sound and vibration!
and
Coraline
Ry, Sheldon and I all sat around in our 3D glasses and watched it last night
(I should have taken pictures, Sheldon looked so cute - the glasses wouldn;t fit Skellie Wabbit!)
If you are a Nightmare Before Christmas fan -run now and grab a copy!
I am also going to see the Red Sox tomorrow with great friends -
I have seen the Phillies over a dozen times...
But Shane has never been to a live sporting event!
I am pretty excited for him!
Ok enough stalling - I'm off for my lonely walk...
Have a fabulous Friday Night!

Tuesday, July 21, 2009

wow - what a week...

Wow - what a rollercoaster week and it is only Tuesday...
(ok, technically Wednesday morning!)
My sweet Samhain (that's my orange Eclipse's name)
only ended up costing $1,165.00
Better then what I expected.
The engine light ended up being the gas cap screwed on over the little string thing that attaches it to the car so it doesn't get lost...although I checked that - apparently I screwed it back on the same way both times. But I am ok with my idiot moment since it didn't cost me anything for the guy to basically say I was an idiot in a polite way!
No new brakes just yet...the grinded them again which was only $200.
Works for me - now I can save for when I do need new routers!
Then work has just been a ball buster...
(or ovary buster in my case)
I hired a person on Friday...and because of a stupid mistake made by one of my better people - I may have to let one go this Friday!
It's out of my control/hands and in HR's.
My job rocks for the most part...but days like today bum me out!
HOWEVER....
THE GOOD NEWS....
I LOST 5 POUNDS!
Goal for this week - Gym at least 2 or 3 times...
No excuses! I love my bloggy, plurky, FB peeps....
But I gots to do whats I gots to do!
*laughs*

Saturday at the beach

I woke up this morning to a rainy Saturday morning...
I played some Jack Johnson and dance around for a bit...
By the time the boys got home at noon the sun was out...
So we packed up Shane's Soul and headed to Walnut Beach!
(the coolest new 2010 KIA, not his already beautiful soul!)
It couldn't have been a more perfect day at the beach...
blue skies, cool breeze
warming sunshine and my favorite boys!
(This picture does no justice for how beautifully blue the sky was!)
Lots of pictures - and I may even have posted my 2 favs more then once...
I have so many more - but I am too lazy to post them all
This guy may explain where the cool breeze was coming from!
Gotta love Leo the Lion!
This was my favorite!
Poseidon fighting off a sea monster...
Anyone for a game of domino's?
(*laughs* I bet she would have loved this shot of her butt!)
The crocodile hunter...
This one was cool and beachy -
it had a sea turtle, a whale, a crab and a dolphin on the other side
The precision on this was neat...that is Obama in the middle.
But I like my politics separate from my sand art!
This kid was so proud of his alligator!
with good reason...
What a creative little guy using shells as the sharp teeth!
This one was the boy's favorite...
A shark eating a guy on a surf board.
(It was cool - but not as cool as Poseidon!)
I guess if you can't find a flesh and blood chick...
...he should have made her a mermaid...
I *heart* mermaids!
Pretty cool - right?
One last shot of the boy's favorite...
One last shot of my favorite...
Which were your favorites?
Next year I hope to enter...
(shhhh...I am signing Ry and I up!)
Doesn't it look fun?!
(Hey, how did my beautiful soul man get here?)
*laughs*
Doesn't he look like he is enjoying the beach?
So next year - perhaps you will see my creation on here!
After the beach we went and had lobster rolls on the deck at my favorite place in Stratford. It's right where the river meets the sound and it is beautiful.
I love just sitting and watching boats.
(Yes, I had lobster, only half the roll and a delicious salad with light balsamic instead of fries)
The best part was I drank ice water and I wasn't miserable not enjoying my regular martini!
Teaching this old dog new tricks is getting easier!
How was your Saturday?

Cue stripper music!

I am sooooo Craving a dirty martini!
I was just informed this afternoon that my engine light being on
may mean I need a new sensor which could cost me $400+
since my car is past the milage warrenty.
I then was informed I need breaks, or rotors, or some shit.
Although I just had them grinded down in April
due to the fact that I had to jam on my breaks
to avoid being hit by 3 bouncing bowling pins.
Yes - you read that right...
I had to stop on a dime while doing 65 on the highway
(truthfully - it was more like 70-75!)
to avoid 3 bowling pins bouncing at me on Rte 84!!!
(You can't make this shit up folks!)
That was nothing...
...even more fun was trying to avoid a washer and dryer
that flipped out of the back of a pick up and came bouncing at me!
(Yes - washer and dryers bounce when coming at you 65 miles an hour!)
so anyway...back to my car....
I also need her 60,000 mile tune up.
This includes all the car engine sparkplug crap and a timing belt.
Car crap costs $429
Timing belt: $469
Possible rotors $400 something...
(I think I lost conciousness when she started into that cost)
plus
$$$$$$$$$+
for the possible engine light-emission thingy
if the light doesn't go off before I take it to them on Monday.
Today it cost me $56.00 to find all this out!
Oil change, tire rotation and friday night fun, right???!!!
(She did tell me they will be kind enough to deduct the $56.00 off the 60,000 tune up fee -
since that would have been included...cause Goddess knows - that would have broke my ass!)
So me - the emotional eater - emotional drinker that I am...
am having a seriously tough time having fun this friday night!
SO that romatic Paradise Island vaca I was planning
for my and Shaney's birthday celebration
at the end of August will be just a picnic on the patio here in CT!
On a good note...
Heading to Walnut Beach for the sandcastle competition tomorrow.
On a bad note...
It's calling for @#%&^! rain!
*laughs*
...when life gives you lemons...
(I just wish Jenny Craig had a tequilla!!!)
Off to cuddle with my sweetheart and watch a movie with my green tea!
PS...Eating life change is going well - I am loving Jenny's food! I highly recommend it!
*laughs* on day 3 anyway! ;)

D Day...

Yesterday I broke down and joined Jenny Craig.
I was sick of feeling fat.
We won't even get into my self image of myself...
I simpley "felt" fat!
Winded going up steps, uncomfortable and just plain
miserable, so I had to do something!
...so today I started my pre-packaged food program...
Lunch.
Afternoon snack.
Dinner!
*laughs*
Just kidding...so far the food is pretty good and I am feeling "satisfied".
These pictures are from a walk a month or so back...
I figured I could use them in a diet kinda post.
I should really get my ass to the gym tonight - going for a walk instead.
(after my internet fix of course!)
I went from spinning 5-6 days a week to
spinning 3 days a week,
to spinning 1 time before vacation,
to nothing in the past month.
(but my farm on farm town is ass kicking and I am a blog reading queen!)
I am mad at myself for that and mad that I let myself get "voluptuous" again.
This is the third time for a prepackaed food program.
I lostr 70 pounds on nutrisystem - gained 100 back.
Lost 80 pounds on nutrisystem, gained 90 back.
This time I have "people" (maybe not Valerie or Jenny herself - but people)
I have a support system. I have a effin; 800 number!
*laughs* phone call:
"*sobbing* hello Jenny?! hello Valerie?! HELP!? I am just about to eat a brownie!!!"
Anyhoo - here we go again - and this is the last time!
I want to be healthy and feel good!
My beautiful self deserves that!
Ok, enough typing - I am heading out for a walk!
*hugs*
